Our early ancestors have been living in groups in order to protect themselves from animals, and share resources such as tools, clothes and food. Speaking of food, it was easier to hunt as a group rather than one, as most of our human history lived in hunter-gatherer societies until 12,000 years ago due to the emergence of agriculture.
Because of this cooperation, we as a species found our way on top of the food chain and became the apex predator of Earth. We have dominated the globe in every way until we didn’t. Humans have set the goal to conquer the Earth and we were able to achieve that feat, we also differentiation from the typical animal.
As an intelligent species, we have developed what every other animal could not. We have created language, art, science, math and philosophy. From this development, we no longer became the typical animal whose only purpose was to eat, sleep and reproduce.
Resources were needed for such achievements and of course, they are limited. Humans started fighting amongst themselves to over who controlled the resources necessary to continue developing.
However, resources aren’t the only reason why conflict has occurred. Conflict can also be caused by religion, ideology, or even just the goal to expand and conquer.
Such example could be the Cold War, facing the difference between capitalism and communism. Or the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian war over the possession of territory.
Humans have come a long way from the past but we still have imperfections waiting to be corrected. This means answer to war, racism, sexism and every other ism is because of failure of communication, trust and cooperation.
I assure you, once solid world peace and cooperation is established. The human race will thrive stronger than it has ever before. Mark my words.
